Cpq buys maybe 65 % of pc components from fareast not counting the intel part and now intel is dropping cost below their plan.
I'm buying compenents from the far east too.
it's been a boon costwise.
this isn't a joke....cost are dropping on stuff we plan to levels never dreamed possible. I'm sure cpq is getting better deals than me/
This has happened a few times in histroy. even in jan-may of 1997
the yen went to 130 to 1.
I think you don't understand what makes executives tick.
No one person was in charge of the BTO program. cpq doesn't work that way.
The BTO, CTO,ODM program has many people running phases of it.
Executives have left cpq in mass since 1990. In 7 yrs the stk has gone
from 22 to almost 500...why did that happen with this mass exit of execs.????? It's becasue cpq is a business that doesn't really
design everything around one person. in fact part of their great solutions is it has to work and now fall apart when people leave.
I can assure you that the bto program is working and is way ahead
of schedule.
way ahead of schedule and is astounding even cpq in parts of the world
like Europe.
