(KCRA) — A man walking his dogs found five loaded, illegal assault rifles as well as ammunition and several high-capacity magazines, the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office said.

The guns were found along the Van Duzen River Bar, south of Old State Highway 36. After finding the guns, the man called the sheriff’s office.

The guns, ammo and magazines were inside two cases on the river bar, the sheriff’s office said. Nearly all the guns were lacking a manufacturer’s serial number.
