Did anyone catch Elaine Garzarelli on CNBC late this afternoon? She spoke of having just returned from Asia. She mentioned that businesses are closing right and left, and she stated that some people have committed suicide. Sounds grim.

Some food for thought: Interest rates are down, stock prices are down, and bonds are up. Has anyone stopped to consider what is going to happen when bonds begin to sell off as foreign holders need to raise dollars? The time to sell is when bonds are high, and they certainly meet this test. With stocks down and maybe heading lower due to lower earnings, and with a bond sell off forcing interest rates higher (thus providing more tempting yields as bond prices drop), is there not considerable risk of a stock sell off as people move out of stocks in favor of higher yields??? Are we on, or approaching, the edge of a cliff?
