Northforce, I'm not sure whether you are slating the idea of a multifunctional little photonic communicator in general or the Flex Motorola/Microsoft effort in particular. Provided the processing power, display size [remembering that there are some clever little displays being developed], power consumption and speed are okay, then it seems to me that everything needs to be in one handy little package. Much like we keep quite a bit of processing power, memory, stereophonic and image processing [stereoscopic, 3D], and other inputs in one handy little package little bigger than a Nokia 9000 between our ears.

Timing will be vital, not too soon, not too late. My hope is that Qualcomm and pals will come up with the right gadget to displace Microsoft as the most admired monopoly in the silicon, gallium, electonic, photonic, communication digital processing world. So far so good.

Dan, ref your next post, yes, me too. Gassing on the phone comes first. Might as well add the other little bits as they are economically available for near zero marginal cost, weight and size. A Toshiba camera to sit on a PC Monitor weighs zero. Why not put the little thing in the end of the phone for recording images? Uses the same battery, aerial and all that stuff. Same for GPS. Same for the alarm clock and all the other things. Even the vegemite dispenser would use the same case and with new concentrated types, only milligrams per slice is needed.

Heck, even sheep dip could be put in the tip of the aerial.
