I love these stories....
here is the update TOKYO, Jan 13 (Reuters) - An armed man who has entered the Tokyo Stock Exchange has taken one of the exchange officials hostage, demanding a halt to stock trading in the afternoon session on Tuesday, Japanese media reported.
Fuji Television reported that the man was also demanding that Finance Minister Hiroshi Mitsuzuka come to the exchange as well.
The hostage has been tentatively identified as Masahiro Abe, who is on secondment to the TSE from the Finance Ministry, media reports said. The stock exchange was continuing normal trading despite the threat, brokerage officials said.
Nippon Television reported that the man appeared at the reception area of the executive floor shortly after 1 p.m. (0400 GMT), produced his name card and demanded to see a top TSE official.
Abe appeared and the man suddenly pulled a pistol. The receptionist fled, and heard what she thought was a shot moments later, NTV said.
She reportedly called to Abe through the closed door of the executive suite, and he told her he was all right, the network said.
