How about Qlogic?

They actually licenced their SCSI controller to NCR (now
SYMBIOS) and lost out pretty well 3 years or so ago.

Last 6 quarters (or so) have seen great things.

Stock has gone from 5 ish to 40+ (but now 20s). Was my biggest
% gain. (thanks to CTSL - who sold out at 9 I think).

However SCSI has never been a mainstream PC segment more
workstation, RAID, etc. Qlogic now going for Fibre channel.
