He didn't start a trade war. This is another example of how you just parrot what you hear with no real understanding. I've done business in China, when I was an executive for a Fortune 100 company before I retired recently. US companies have to form joint ventures with Chinese firms, just for the privilege of doing business there. The US Company then only gets 49% of that JV and has to hand over our intellectual property. It's hardball and very unfair, when you consider that those same Chinese companies can come to the US and do business with little to no restrictions. In addition, in commodities and other industries of national priority, China heavily subsidizes their own companies and encourages them to engage in deeply unfair practices like dumping at below cost to win business and drive US companies out of business.

I've also done business in LATAM, where Brazil has 100%+ taxes and duties on US imports, compared to 5-10% import duties when Brazil imports into the US. On cars, the US charges European firms around 6% import duties and our car companies are charged 10-15% to import into Europe.

The bottom line is that everywhere you look, the US is getting screwed. The fact is that the whole world has been engaged in a trade war with the US and we've been asleep at the wheel handing our prosperity and money over to anyone who wants it. Idiots like you, the liberals, and the Democrats are so darned clueless as to how the business world really works and how economic prosperity is won that you engage in mindless echo chamber talk like blaming Trump for a trade war, when in reality, he's the first President to stand up for the US economy and our companies and workers.

Wake up, grow up, or get out of the way, you little child.
