Oh yes, China needs us. We're their largest trading partner. If we wanted to hurt them, it would be mutually assured economic destruction. We don't have to pay back their debt. Or we could inflate it away. They know that. Our companies don't have to go there, but they do to make a profit. Chinese companies come here to make a profit as well. A level playing field is what is fair.

If you don't believe in a level playing field, then how about we cut your salary to 50% of what your colleagues make and see how you like it. China is giving us the scraps of our participation in their economy and taking all of the inventions and capital investments we have made and sucking it up for their own benefit, to the very great detriment of the US workers. You are a typical liberal who wants to increase welfare and entitlements in this country, because you feel so sorry for the American worker, but you won't do the rational thing and fight back when other countries take advantage of our companies, which directly impacts the welfare of US workers. You and your party's hypocrisy and economic ignorance is stunning.

Exploit their cheap labor? China gets credit for lifting millions of their people out of poverty, but that's bullshit. It was US companies and US consumers who invested billions in Chinese manufacturing that resulted in those millions of jobs being created out of thin air. All the Chinese government did was experiment a little with Capitalism and we did the rest to enrich the Chinese workers.

First off, it was not Chinese Socialism/Communism that lifted those people out of poverty. It was US companies engaging in what limited Capitalism the Chinese government allowed. You are so backasswards in all your thinking, you have no ability to understand what drives economies.
