I've completed my research for the most part and I am going to post my findings on Monday. But there are a few lingering questions that remain that I haven't been able to resolve yet. I'm going to pose these questions here and see what kind of response I get. Ideally, I'd like to see gold bug and non-gold bug responses:

Can't this move up in Gold and GDXJ be completely retraced if the US and China come to some kind of trade agreement? And if the S&P is close to perhaps some kind of strong bounce wouldn't that also have a detrimental effect on the POG and the Miners? Moreover, if the move up in gold and the Miners were mostly nothing more than temporary safe haven retreats on the parts of investors/traders, what is to prevent the sector from retreating to their lows when the stock market stabilizes a bit and begins to rally?
