I don't believe there was ever a situation in the history of the US when a newly elected President had to engage in such a power struggle. They tried to delegitimize GWB, but at least they didn't try removing him from office forever after. Those who worry about the value of the dollar should be concerned. This protracted witch hunt has the potential of being immeasurably more important than in what currency the price of a barrel of oil is measured. Why would anyone want to keep as their reserve a currency issued by a government whose stability is questioned?
