I haven't driven an automated car but I guess it will be a long time before they are intelligent enough to suit me. When I consider the array of things that affect how I drive, computers and sensors don't have a hope of competing.

But where they can beat me all day and night is in particular areas such as momentary inattention, night time radar, infra red inaging, communication with other vehicles nearby and all the way along the intended route, knowing where speed cameras and police are, getting drowsy, driving while mating, or drunk ... I hasten to add those don't all apply to me.

Symbiosis of car brain and human brain will be great. But with me in charge of most decisions.

Eventually it would be nice to leave it all to the automated driving systems. Then driving while drunk, sleeping, texting, mating and mooning out the window which are what humans are good at, could be done safely.
