"The fact that this has been largely ignored by the media (the public just doesn't care) and not pursued by the Republicans is a sad commentary on our political system. It underscores that there is corruption in both parties." My guess is that the Republicans knew that they couldn't in the end restrict the investigation to the Clinton campaign. The Indonesians don't have any special fondness for Bill--a reasonable guess is that they excercised liberal democracy (so to speak) when it came to spreading the cash around. They just want influence and favors--it doesn't really matter to them who gives it.
