It may be an idea for the Trump Team to "test the waters", in one way or another, to gauge what they can expect from the public in terms of their Donations to a "Wall Fund".

If the feedback is good then maybe Trump can do a tour of the country and whip up support and get the Wall Fund rolling.

As you say, if the money starts to pour in, the "professional politicians" will have got the message when they put their wet 'political' finger up into the "wind of public opinion" ....
