They don't care that they were wrong before. But the same is not true for religion. Nobody wants to hear that their god is dead or never existed.

This is a huge difference and it changes the way these two operate. Science welcomes the change and actively provides means and methods for it. But religion hates apostasy and works hard to make it impossible. Which is why if it cannot be proven one way or another, it is not science.


Well, you do have a point. Religion is probably more sticky. But science is also sticky.

But I’m saying the factual of the difference, when you go to the universal level, is likely not that different. Religion and science are probably both wildly wrong (most religions, obviously). Buddhism is maybe closer to the truth than others I think, but what do I know?

Just don’t “worship” science it’s just as falable, in the end, as anything human. It makes for a wonderful working hypothesis, makes living a little easier. And religion makes for a wonderful working social hypothesis for many (not me).

We’re human. It’s likely whatever we believe is wrong some way or another.
