The UK has amazing records for research. I believe they still have the stick tallies on which the taxes were marked at the time of the Magan Carta: bl.uk Yup Many countries have records Americans can't even imagine- because they don't really have a sense of history and they haven't traveled. It's amazing what is still out there. It's sad what was lost - but it's all the more amazing that we have as much as we have.
