Interesting choice of "stock" photo, Jeff.

I ran it though my beta copy of the FBN Duck-O-Matic bird identification software, which reports that several of those "ducks" are in fact Black-headed Gulls, in winter plumage, along with 3 feral pigeons and one Eurasian Coot.

From the extent of the urban pollution on the bridge and surrounding buildings, this photo was taken in 1997 or 1998. And the amount of snow on the buildings and ice on the water's edge would suggest late winter, so quite possibly February or March of 1998.

The "big white ones" are only replicas of swans, and this is where it gets interesting. It is a well-known fact that many investment managers have an unhealthy obsession with James Bond movies, and frequently use spy techniques from those movies in their quest for information that will give them an edge in the market.

And we all remember the opening scene of Goldfinger, where Sean Connery emerges from the water in a wetsuit, with a seagull on his head. Each one of the "swans" in that photograph is actually concealing a submerged spy from one of the big hedge funds or Wall St houses, desperately trying to get details on the upcoming FBN IPO from our humble mail-man Svejk!
