Brumar,
It's called conditioning the public mind to accept child transgenderism. Which is frankly a type of child sexual abuse. Young kids don't make those kind of choices on their own ... it's a parent pushing / promoting an agenda.
The show's producer already said that the child character isn't gay or transgendered.

I remember when I watched Roseanne during its original run. The child's mother, Darlene, was the weird one. She was the misfit. She was the sarcastic, look-at-the-world-from-the-outside type. But most importantly, she was a striking reflection of her mother, Roseanne.

Fast-forward to today. Roseanne is now a Trump supporter. Already that goes against the grain, and the grain is very harsh and unforgiving. Darlene of course is now a mother, and her child is now the misfit. Why is that so hard to believe, you closed-minded fool?

Besides, Darlene doesn't seem like the type to force anyone to be anything they don't want to be. That would go completely against her character that was built up over many, many seasons. There goes your bullshit notion of "child sexual abuse."

Basically I can see how the child wants to be different and how he hates to conform to societal norms. Frankly, I think that's brilliant. And it's a lot more intelligent than your bigoted views on child psychology.
