Today Dell also introduced a new 56K (b) capable modem, priced at $229 in the U.S., which incorporates K56 flex technology, a protocol that enables the modem to decode information at 56 kilobits per second. This new modem is integrated signal digital network (ISDN) upgradeable to allow notebook PCs to be connected to ISDN lines for high-speed access to the Internet and electronic mail. Customers can also upgrade the modem so they can connect their notebook PC to a cellular phone to easily access a phone line while they are on the road.

Additional information on Dell Inspiron notebook products can be found on the company's website at dell.com .
