david, no..if cpq ships above the planned inventory to a channel then it's substracted off via a planned return, incentives to lower the price to move the inventory, etc. etc.
accelerating planned shiments wouldn't allow the sale to count.each channel has a desired inventory..when you get above that inventory then no matter how much you ship them it is subtracted out.
i have a post on what started this about 11-12 yrs ago.
cp takes revenue when they ship...but they also analize channel inventory and subtract out for the elements I mentioned.
this is why I say that people who yell cpq's revenue is bec. of stuffed channel are naive in their knowledge of how industry and cpq works.
plus, please explain how cpq can be stuffing chanel for yrs but their inventory in channel in down drastically from a yr. ago.
basic Input/ Output Analysis would say that you can't stuff channel and inventory keep going down.<ggg>
