I never throw spaghetti at the wall. I know why I post something. The great irony of morality is that for most of the last two thousand years what was considered moral was often actually evil.

You do realize that for most of the last two thousand years in the west the church WAS the moral authority. In fact where do you think the idea abortion is a crime comes from, or that being gay is a crime against god? The moral authority of the church. Both are still death sentences in many parts of the world by the moral authority of a religion along with heresy and apostasy.

The church commonly tortured people for heresy ,or apostasy in a no win situation. There were many torture methods. They were often put on the rack, called being stretched, in a no win situation. If they didn't break, they died but were told they went to heaven and their family was spared. If they broke as most did I am sure, then they were guilty and killed.

It was also common to draw and quarter them, or have them flogged. Burning at the stake was a favorite. Women who practiced medicine, or other activities were in danger of being called a witch and either burned at the stake or drowned in a cold river, or something else.

People lived in constant fear of the MORAL authority of the church, as many still do today. There were cardinal sins like sex out of marriage and even french kissing and people were constantly told by the church that if they went against the church they would burn in hell.

That was the moral authority for much of the last two thousand years!

Does that look like spaghetti??

"Yeah, that was also true when the church tortured people for heresy, kept slaves, had segregation and women couldn't vote and had few civil rights"

You are throwing spaghetti against the wall hoping something sticks. It won't obscure the fact that "you right wingers never think of morality" is a lie.
