no - i had no idea what they were.
according to the locals, they were early this
year.

we get a lot of starfish as well. it all depends on
the wave action. you never know what you'll
find at the high tide mark.

yesterday the beaches were littered with shells
- moon shells, cockles, clam - mostly empty but
some not. if you're lucky, and you are at the right
place at the right time you will find scallops. happened
to me once and i came home with well over 100.
