It seems as if the medical community has changed, and I feel like I'm just another body coming through the system. It's definitely gotten more and more impersonal. I remember LB saying something to the affect that we are going to have to take personal responsibility for our own health because no one else will. It may be because of a shortage of doctors, and/or a large increase in patients, but I took what he said to heart, so I do a lot of my own research. I'm pretty aggressive about my health care and I let my doc know what I want instead of waiting for her to make suggestions. Your friend is going to have to take control of his own life and well being.
