Absolutely. My 3 kids loved it. And the Scots love kids- they're very kid friendly. Lots of outdoor places with lots of kids- and who doesn't love torture implements? Lots of those in the castles. Wonderful places to picnic. Wonderful food for kids- Scottish foods aren't "scary"- except for haggis, which actually is pretty good- but you don't have to eat that! Great things like fish and chips and Scottish eggs- and OMG- take them to the cake section (at Marks and Spencers)- my kids loved afternoon tea with Jammy Dodgers and fairy cakes and Cream rings (donuts sliced in 1/2 with whip cream in the middle). Two of my kids were in middle school/high school and 1 was in elementary- and they all loved it. We went all over the place with the kids- and everywhere there were lots of other kids and lots of room to run. You can be as adventurous as you want to be- there's lots of wonderful walks- parts of the Great Glen Way are very accessible- you don't have to walk the whole thing!
