Are you kidding? What do you think life was like before the 60's. People had to think and live according to right wing primitive ideology and religion.

Religious dogma ruled the day along with racism, misogyny, homophobia and "organization man".

Do you think atheists had an easy time in the past?

Nothing is more important than freedom of thought and the press. But at the same time reprehensible things like insulting a persons race, or gender is a good thing to try and get people to stop doing.
