Trillions of dollars of debt from tax cuts and trillions more to finance the debt and then trillions more to fund the military and wars since they didn't raise taxes. Putting the #s in perspective sometimes help. All the presidents before Reagan created less than $1 trillion of debt. By the time Reagan left office, the debt was a little shy of $3 trillion. He nearly tripled the debt and that's when the problem began.

The US went from being the largest creditor nation to the largest debtor nation under Reagan and the gop hasn't looked back once.
