I guess, now in addition to four GOP-appointed FISA judges, and Trump-appointed FBI Director and Deputy Atty General, a fed judge in NY, along w the Trump-appointed US Atty for the SDNY (whom he personally interviewed) are ALL in on this vast conspiracy.

The US Attorney responsible for the Cohen raid was PERSONALLY INTERVIEWED BY TRUMP for the job — something that previous presidents just didn’t do.

7. Finally, not enough people are talking about the reality that even if Mueller is fired, THE INVESTIGATIONS THAT HAVE BEGUN WILL NOT GO AWAY. Once there is a factual@predicate to open them, they *will* be investigated – by Mueller or someone else – until they reach resolution.
6. This also means that Rosenstein is carefully exercising his oversight authority over Mueller. So it adds weight to the legitimacy of his previously approved expansion of Mueller's scope wrt Manafort.
5. If this is correct, then it underscores something I'be tried to explain to people before: If Mueller uncovers something that is unrelated to his mandate, the FBI isn't going to pretend it doesn't exist and ignore it. It'll simply get referred out as a regular criminal case.
4. That Rosenstein referred it suggests to me that Mueller may have uncovered evidence related to a crime(s), but which are outside his topical scope – which is fairly broad.
3. But I'm not sure if that would be the case for Mueller's investigation, given that it has it's own team, and a particular focus (and is so sensitive for a number of reasons).
2. The FBI is decentralized in away, meaning that typically agents from that field division carry out investigative steps if it's located in their jurisdiction (so NY would follow leads, execute searches, etc, if it's in NY) even if the case is based elsewhere.
LINT (short thread). This is significant and the "Mueller is on a witch hunt" camp should take note. Remember that Mueller has to get Rosenstein's approval for significant steps taken in his investigation. |
