Yes. There is quite a difference between the public's view (Microsoft is great, Bill Gates is a genius) and the view of most programmers and software professionals (Microsoft forces bad software down their throats, Bill Gates has used unethical business practices over the years to put competitors out of business).

I keep wondering when the public will wise up. I am not saying that everything Microsoft puts out is completely bad. But let's face it, the creative people that started Netscape invented the browser -- a great breakthrough. All Microsoft did was copy it. Now Microsoft is, as usual, doing everything they can to put Netscape out of business.

Great, another group of innovative people bite the dust.
