Big Buck, >Barring a world wide recession/depression I could see AMAT at $80 by 2000 and $120 by 2002 without adjusting for any stock split that may occur. This is hard to project, but AMAT management has targeted to have $10B in sales by 2001, where does that put the price of the stock. Based on current numbers that will
make the current shares worth at least $100-120, IMHO.<

The previous posted article on Micro Technology was very interesting to me since it reflected what was going on between the battle of supply vrs demand as reflected in the price.. Therefore, I went to the Dorsey Wright MU Chart and saw that Micro Technology has just broken a triple top of 28 when it broke to a price of $29. The question I have to threaders is, "Are we seeing a shift from the production of semiconductors to US companies and away from the pacific rim and even a reduction of the supply of semiconductors in general? If we are, then will not the price of semiconductors go up even on the 16 RAM chip as the demand is maintained or increased based on the requirements of new technology? To keep ahead of the the Pacific Rim, won't the US and other electronic companies with the additional generated revenue push forward toward the 64 RAM and 256 RAM chip therefore keeping the Pacific Rim further behind the curve? To keep its advantage won't MU be buying additional AMAT equipment? When the Pacific Rim countries get their act together won't they then be required to again purchase the new equipment for producing semiconductors?"

IMO, my personal projections for MU based on its estblishe base has a potential high range from $43-$52. Its DW recent low was at $22. It recently hit $29.

I keep reminding myself that price is determined buy supply and demand.

I sure would hate to be in the bind that the fab companies are in at the Pacific Rim.

What are your opinions?

Just my $.02.
