Public sector unions are attacked by republicans because they didn't put money into their pension plans. They used their money to give tax cuts to the rich. State pension plans are $1.2 trillion in the hole the last time I checked. When a republican is faced with a disaster he created, his natural instinct is to blame everyone other than himself.
