BC, it's one thing if you distrust our own government. That's par for the course.

But the claims by the Syrian and Russian governments are even less credible, such as the claim that most of the missiles were shot down by air defenses, or the trolling by Assad himself who's practically daring Trump to "come at me bro."

That seems to put more weight in the theory that Assad was indeed responsible for the chemical attack. A tone of defiance over a tone of outrage is really suspicious.

The real question is how we should respond. There aren't any easy options here. Even the "do nothing" option takes quite a bit of resolve.
