A decision on investigating -- or not investigating -- anything based on politics is inherently unfair and dishonest. And not allowed by FBI's own standards. That HRC was believed to be the prospective winner should not influence an investigation one bit.

And frankly, this admission explained a lot. Before this I could never comprehend interviewing the target of an investigation

(a) after the report had already been written
(b) without benefits of recording devices or even notes taken
(c) with an arbitrary time limit placed on the interview
(d) by investigators who have subsequently been proved to have been "in the tank."

It is an outrage, and pretty clearly explains why this criminal was not indicted.
