Hey Christine...
I don't mind "yapping" about our company as long as their is an audience willing to listen.
We were established out of what we recognized as a need for good customer service and support in the telecommunications industry. We initially targeted the areas where we felt comfortable (colleges, apartment complexes, military, etc.) The first schools we serviced had a history of "less than satisfactory" performance from their previous agency. It was almost like an abused animal, so we gave them lots of TLC and have been able to gain their confidence and drop their complaints to near "0." This is directly proportianate to the exceptional people we have in our service departments (and we take every opportunity to recognize them for their efforts.
We have been blessed with a great group of people in our company. We are small and can manuever quickly. Our staff is empowered to the max and are given a pretty good path to work on. Our system is a true "state-of-the-art" layout. We have a very talented MIS person who just can't stop upgrading our software and equipment. Our service center is 100% automated...when a customer calls their history and personal information immediately appear on the screen. By pressing a single key our agents can access our "help" screens for specific answers to customer problems. We have migrated this same information to the institution's homepage..this allows students to look up answers to their questions while on the Internet. There's a lot more..but..I think you get the drift on the service aspect.
We have also diversified and created an Internet monitoring program allowing parents/guardians to protect their children from obscene sites. Our product is linked to another called Cyber Patrol ("C.P.") C.P. monitors the sites and blocks the children from accessing them. Our product monitors the TEXT describing the site and replaces all profanity and lude descriptions with a series of "0's" We had to modify it a little because it accidentally became over zealous and blocked out a debate between Dick Army and Dick Gephardt. The last portion of this program is it also collects address searches into a hidden file. The parent/guardian set up this file with a personal access code..sooooo..when they go out for the evening they can check on what Bobby or Jane were looking for while they were gone. Obviously this is designed for people with young impressionable minds and it gives them the option to have some control at their end rather than the cyber police expanding their control.
Another product about to be activated is the DVD unlocking technology. This product protects the copyrights of artists, game manufacturers, etc. The person will receive one, or more, DVD (CD ROM type) discs with their new computer. When they want to activate the game, movie, etc it will be released but ONLY to their computer. If they copy it or give it to someone else it will not function. This was designed to reduce, if not stop, "pirating"...especially by foregin markets.
The other product we are extremely close to releasing is local dial tone for customers considered a high credit risk. Generally these people cannot receive this service from their previous provider due to an outstanding amount due.
Well..you asked...and that "in a nutshell" is it...
SEXI...nope...never bought it...never been accused of being it ;-) (I just looked at GLFC..it's up 50% (that makes if .15/share)...don't get too excited..only 6,500 shares traded..I am a little "P.O.d'" at myself because I was going to play "day trader" on it today just for giggles..the stuff I bought yesterday is lonnnnggggg term.
Talk to you later...more marketing "stuff" to do...
T.R.
P.S. Did I send you a nasty e-mail at some time...I don't recall doing it..if I did..I'm sorry...must've been an ill-fated attempt at humor..I don't think I've ever sent anyone a nasty note on purpose. |
