<< There are 2 ways to transfer shares from one brokerage firm to another. One is doing an ACAT, in which the whole account is transfered, and the other is by doing a partial transfer, where you have to specify the stocks and number of shares you want moved. This is particularly useful if you want to keep more than one brokerage account. I hope this helps.>> Yes, almost all account application packages include account transfer form. And all the brokerage firms say the transfer will take several weeks to complete. Please correct me if I am wrong. And I never, never saw wiring of sequrities/funds as a way to transfer account listed neither in these firms prospects, nor at their WEB sites. Just wondering why? By the way, could anybody share experience and tips of transferring accounts (partial/whole) from Datek? Thanks, Alex
