Can you distinguish between being smart, and honest and caring and agreeing with you politically?

Can you name a single person who has radically different political ideas than your own (say strongly conservative, strongly libertarian or something along those lines), who your sure is mostly wrong, but you recognize is very intelligent, and to you seems to be at least reasonably honest and at least as caring as the average person?
