Statistics is a powerful science that has the power of predictability e.g. did adding manure to that acre increase the yield?

Probability is something not hardwired into humans like pattern recognition. Humans have a hard time learning it, but life itself is a big probability game. What to eat and how to live is all a matter of probability. Don't smoke or eat hot dogs every day, or get fat, if you want to live long because probability says you won't if you do those things.

Winning poker payers understand probability better than losing poker players and so don't play as many bad hands.

Social Science uses statistics to tell which programs are needed and which programs work and that is not an art that is science.

E.g. the right wings stupid :"just say no to drugs", or abstinence only sex programs are known not to work, or supply side economics,.etc

Or is it an Art that desperately wants to be a science like social science that put science in its name because it desperately wants to be one as well.
