So based on what you have previously posted about his eating habits, what has he changed to make his A1C go down so drastically? His diet is likely the culprit here, but if his eating habits haven't changed, all bets are off.

The good news is that his A1C number is really great news. That's an astronomical drop, but if he is still following his same diet (of not eating well) then something else is going on that requires further studying.

If I were a diabetic, I would be thrilled with those A1C numbers. If his continue to go down, he shouldn't feel nearly as bad as he does now.
