"Regarding Avago's acquisition of Broadcom in 2015, according to the Orange County Business Journal about 29% of Broadcom employees were let go at that time. "

¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿ That is NOT what the article stated. The actual Facts are that the article in question stated..

"Irvine is so far bearing the brunt of layoffs following Avago Technologies Ltd.’s $37 billion buy of Broadcom Corp., which closed last week.
The local operation at University Research Park will shed about 29% of its workforce, according to filings with the California Employment Development Department."

ocbj.com

So.... 29% of the employees at the Irvine University Research Park location. Not 29% of Broadcom employees in total.

The Facts are:
ocregister.com

"Broadcom Ltd. will cut nearly 700 jobs at its Irvine campus by the end of March, according to state documents.
The San Jose-based company plans to lay off about 850 workers statewide including 180 positions in San Jose, Santa Clara and Sunnyvale, according to filings with the Employment Development Department.

The chip maker made history last May in a record-breaking tech deal when it was acquired for $37 billion by Singapore-based Avago Technologies. The deal was official nine days ago."

So Broadcom/AVGO laid off 700 jobs at the Irvine campus after the acquisition which equated to 29% of the employee roll at the IRVINE CAMPUS. Not 29% of the total employees at Broadcom.

It's those small details that get lost when you have an opinion and elect to selectively read what you want to read, either that or you are intentionally attempting to mislead?

And so it goes,
