1) JJs efforts were a waste of time. Sugar Coated that means "they learned a tonne of info" from the failure
2) Some people are having success taking floated graphite to graphene so AE has decided we gotta give it a try cuz its our last ditch try before failure.
3) The problem is float to graphene needs feed stock of 96% to meet the "minimum requirements of average graphene with D spacing that is poor. Industrial grade Graphene if you wish.
4) The problem is the float gets you at best 92% which means, they need something anything to bridge the 92% to 97% area, herein lies the rub. Acid like it or not
5) So float to at best 92%, scrape off the 92% stuff and toss the 84-91% stuff, creates X loss from float
6) Take 92% and Acid treat to raise too 96%+ with X loss
7) Take 96%+ and convert to Graphene Oxide with X loss
8) Convert the Graphene Oxide to Graphene with X loss
Now you may say, we know we get 98% as Choo Choo likes to think, and yes from that Petri Dish you do(from Graphene Oxide to Graphene, not from Graphite). However, you are going to be escaping the sides and safety of that Petri Dish you have safely operated in for 4 years, one day. Thats when the real numbers start also escaping ZENs hidden domain of data.
