LOL. That's pretty funny. I love those videos. Anyway, like I said before, this debate is like a religion to many Republicans, which is why I don't really like to have the debate. Bottom line is that when the global scientific community changes its mind on this one, I'll look at the evidence again. If my doctor comes to me and says that science has changed on cholesterol and I can stop worrying about it, then I'll go out and clog my arteries again. Until then, I choose to believe him when he tells me to keep my cholesterol low to avoid heart disease. I'm not sure why that should be a religious debate. It's just science. But hey, there's so much fake propaganda going on out there, that most people have no idea what is real or not. I've read enough on it and talked to enough PhDs on the subject to believe them when they say greenhouse gas content in our atmosphere has accelerated in the last 50-100 years and it is the speed of the change that can cause, not the end of the world like the video claims, but very serious negative impacts that humans can't adjust to quickly enough because 90% of humanity lives on coastal areas. I think it is credible when they say that the economic costs to humans will outweigh the benefits of the profits we are getting now from polluting our environment. Also, why do you think the brown haze in major US cities and in Beijing has no impact on the lives of those people? I've read study after study that shows that this pollution causes hundreds of thousands of asthma and other respiratory deaths. Do you think those deaths are a hoax? To me, these things are self-evident to any thinking person.

As for end of the world apocalypse? I don't believe that. After all, the Carboniferous era had far more greenhouse gases than we have today and the world thrived. In addition, we are simply releasing carbon from the ground that was formerly above ground in the form of trees, dinosaurs etc. The earth will adjust, even though it may take a lot of time. So I don't believe in the apocalyptic visions of earth becoming Mars. But I do believe the speed of change will impact humans economically and health wise in very unpleasant and costly ways. It will cost lives and treasure far in excess of profits gained. I think it is simply wise to stop polluting our water and air and stop heating up our planet. Otherwise, we'll make it harder and more unpleasant to live on the planet we change. To me, that's simple common sense.
