The slopes you due are close but the slope for spending was higher.

A more important point is that you drew the slope from an arbitrary point not of the whole series of data,

Not even for the very ends of the data. Look back at the original chart, the projections for revenue increases are already leaving off at the end while the projection for spending increases continues up at the same rate or even a slightly faster rate.
