Ever since this story line broke, I have been trying to ascertain what effect it would have on WDC if the deal didn't go through, for whatever reason. I have come to the conclusion that 'no deal' would leave weakened Toshiba as WDC's partner. This would impact the availability of funds for new fabs and research into further technological and manufacturing developments. I am actually hoping Toshiba is able to unload the NAND business to someone that is willing to invest in the future of NVM, whatever that may look like.

Maybe others have differing viewpoints. SA, try to cast expression of your opinion in a way that doesn't include thinly veiled insults...please.
