My point is that republicans spending on the military exploded under Reagan and Bush while they were cutting taxes. If they want more military they need to raise taxes but they did the opposite.

During the Clinton years, Paygo was still enforced so if there weren't military cuts there would have been more spending cuts or tax increases. For those very few years republicans were forced to pay for their spending and that's the key.

There was no reason for the military buildup under Reagan or Bush. Republicans spend and spend and spend, then they cut taxes again and again and it's never their fault.
