Japan has few guns and few shooting deaths,less than a 100 I think.

After the UK had a mass shooting they limited hand guns and shooting deaths went way down.

Same with Australia.

In general between US states or between European countries there isn't a trend towards more murder in jurisdictions that regulate guns less. It seems Americans (esp those involved in the drug trade which accounts for a very large fraction of the murders here) just seem more willing to kill. Generally Americans have also killed each other more often with knives than other countries despite having more guns (which would tend to reduce knife murders). Its possible that this is changing. The biggest city in the US, New York, recently had less murders than the similarly sized biggest city in the UK, London.
