I posted the military spending numbers yesterday. We're spending a little less than twice as much as we spent when the USSR was still around and this is in constant dollars. I'd cut the military by half. The USSR doesn't exist anymore. Reagan increased SS taxes to help fund the boomer retirement and then quickly spent every penny of it. Every time Dems tried to set aside money for the boomers we were ridiculed. Gore wanted to use a lockbox to stop republicans from spending money that wasn't there's. But let's be frank about this. Americans don't want a responsible government. Americans tend to vote for people who promise free money (tax cuts). A new poll out today says only 5% of Americans think the government will do the right thing. The poll also shows a complete collapse of organized religion in that it won't do the right thing either. Most religions supported Trump so there's a clear movement away from organizations that supported the most corrupt and incompetent person seeking the presidency. CEOs begged for government debt. CEOs!!!! The poll blasts them also. If "you" voted for "tax cutters" even once, you are part of the problem. Undoing what "you" did is going to be very hard.
