Hi Josh,

There is no question that you will think that I over indulge when it comes to taking vitamins. Each day I take the following:

Multi vitamin

500 mg vitamin C

1,000 mg B12 complex

Omega 3 oil

2,000 mg vitamin D3

Milk thistle (a liver detox)

500 mg Magnesium (heart health)

When I was in my early 20's I did manual labor for a living. One day a friend who was selling vitamins gave me a hand full of sample packs and I took one a day. After three days I felt noticeably better and more alert. That experience sold me on the positive effects of supplements.

Today I take the above list of vitamins because I understand what each of them does so it is a good mix for me.

Besides vitamins and certainly more important is diet. I eat yogurt or a bagel with orange juice for breakfast Monday through Friday. I eat a sensible lunch. Each night I eat pinto beans, brown rice, either baked salmon or baked tilapia and about ½ cup of thawed frozen mixed fruit. (Monday through Friday)

On the weekends I eat whatever I want.

My heart is healthy and my cholesterol is 147-150 and I am not on cholesterol medicine.

The link below contains information about eating and type 2 diabetes.
