I wonder what those numbers were 60 years ago. I wonder what changed.

What changed is that way too many black children are raised in neighborhoods with no responsible fathers in the homes. Over 70% of black children are born into single mother households. The neighborhoods do not have enough responsible males trying to see that the kids are raised right.

Walter Williams, a conservative black columnist and retired economics professor, wrote an article several years ago. He asked an old friend who was raised in the same Philly neighborhood in the 1930s if he knew of any children then that could not read. The answer was no. He said if a teenage gal got knocked up, then the men in the neighborhood would get together and visit the responsible boy and let him know he needed to marry her.

Now, they blame racism and poverty. In other words, there was no racism or poverty in the 1930s.

It is all whitey's fault. No need to try to raise each other up. Instead they just tear each other down.
