What Can You do About a Cyber Stalker?

I am Steven Samblis and I have a cyber stalker. He calls himself Larry G. For the past 4 years he has stalked me and obsessed about me, spending hours every month writing false stories about me. He has able to get away with this because he hid behind this fake name. Now thanks to what is called a John Doe subpoena we are about to find out who Larry really is.
I know that sounds ridiculous and sounds as if I am being self important. But this is a real thing and its a scary place to be.
  According to victimsofcrimes.org …
6.6 million people are stalked in one year in the United States.46% of stalking victims experience at least one unwanted contact per week.11% of stalking victims have been stalked for 5 years or more. 2/3 of stalkers pursue their victims at least once per week, many daily, using more than one method. Four years ago this nut bag who goes by Larry G bought several versions my personal name and my company name as URLs. He bought URLs under Samblis, Steve Samblis and Steven Samblis. He also bought all versions of my company name and my TV shows. He paid around $250 for all these version of my name. He then offered to sell them to me and warned me if I did not buy them they could be used to attack and slander me.

He was asking for 3k or 5k in my company stock. The emails are pretty clear that if I did not pay this fee which was over 10 times what he paid for them he would use them to attack me. I told him to go f*** himself and now for the last 4 years he uses the domains to attack and slander me. He is so crazy that he visits my websites every day and writes 1-2 stories a week about just me. I actually had to close down my blog because he was visiting it everyday.

Any intelligent business person would look at this and see that I am the unfortunate target of a cyber stalker and extortionist.
When I spoke with the police about this, they said I am probably not the only person that this criminal has dealt with, but was probably the only one that told him to go pound sand. Obviously that pissed him off.
I have since then registered my name as a trademark and was awarded it in September of 2015. Some time this year we will go to arbitration and civil court with this dirt bag and I will get back my name URLS and shut him down. Till then this person will keep attacking me.
The biggest lesson I learn is to protect your name. As crazy and unnecessary as it sounds people should register their names as URLs and in some cases do what I did and trademark their names.

Envision TV, Inc, the parent company which owns The Movie News Network was founded by veteran TV host, Interviewer, Movie Critic and Entrepreneur Steven Samblis. Before creating Envision TV, Steven had a meteoric career in business that saw him go from being ranked among the top 50 rookie stock brokers at Dean Witter Reynolds, to hosting seminars before 250,000 people in 1999 for The Investors Institute. He went on to speak before congress on shareholder’s rights representing T Boone Pickens’ “United Shares Holders Association.” In 1989, Steve created the first Fax based marketing company selling self-improvement programs. As the company grew into one of the largest sellers of self-improvement in North America, he expanded into the production of audio programs with the opening of Ziglar Productions where they produced Zig's "The Secret of Staying Motivated" and "The Secrets of Closing The Sales". Steve collaborated with Chicken Soup for the Soul co-creator Mark Victor Hansen on the audio program that told the story of the company and how others could use permission based fax marketing. The program, called "The Worlds Greatest Marketing Tools". That program sold over 100,000 copies in the first 3 months of its release. In 2000 Steve launched and took public Self Help Zone Inc. which was founded to capitalize on the "new opportunity" for on-line Self Help Audio, Video and Book retailing. Before it was popular, Steve felt the Self Help industry was particularly suited to on-line retailing because of its unlimited on-line shelf space offering customers a vast selection through an efficient search and retrieval interface. After a successful IPO and launch the company was sold to Ultimate Knowledge. Steve created for his friend Mike Grondahl, a new name brand for his struggling gym, Coastal Fitness, in Dover New Hampshire. He then created the $9.95 a month business model which turned the single gym into one of the most popular network of gyms in North America, Planet Fitness. In November of 2015 Planet Fitness went public with a 1.6 billion dollar market valuation. For 6 years, before launching Envision TV, Steve hosted The Hollywood Fast Lane, a television show syndicated in North America and the UK. On the show Steve has interviewed over 1000 of the biggest actors and directors in entertainment one on one on camera. This lead to the creation and recent launch of The Movie News Network (another Envision TV property? Recently Steve co-produced his first movie, Vigilante Diaries starring Michael Jai White from The Dark Knight, Michael Madsen from Reservoir Dogs and The Hateful Eight, Danny Trejo from Machete and Jason Mewes of Jay and Silent Bob fame. |
