Oyster sauce, along with soya sauce, hoisin sauce are the staples of Cantonese cooking.

You'd be surprised to know that oyster sauce doesn't taste oystery or fishy at all. It is actually very rich tasting with a hint of sweetness and really oomphs up the flavor of many dishes:)

It is readily available in Chinese/Asian grocery stores.
