Neeka, the simple recipe is very versatile.

Another much loved Cantonese recipe is beef with bitter melon in black bean sauce. You would just replace the meat in the recipe above with sliced beef and the veggies with bitter melon (I LOVE bitter melon and it is a special and acquired taste lol!) Bitter melon has positive benefits for diabetics.

I'll post a detailed recipe if you want it, but here's the bitter melon. I've seen the most beautiful white one as well...



I've also made a black bean sauce (like the store-bought one) that can be kept in the fridge and used as a marinade or condiment. It is a variation of what I mentioned above, but with a bit more of a kick and immersed in oil and wine. That will be another post, if you're interested:)

Basically, I like simple, healthy meals:)
