I just finished a month without bread, grains, starch, or sugar. (Low-Carbs, High-Fat)
I lost 12-pounds and my blood-lipids were fantastic!
bad cholesterol and trigs dropped BIG (trigs in half!) good cholesterol was higher.
I lost the big cravings I used to have.
I don't even miss bread now . . I'll start to have some potatoes again once in a while and tasty-bread and butter once in a while . . but it's so great that the cravings are gone.
After only a few weeks I just lost my desire for bread.
I "celebrated" at a party I was at and had some pizza for the first time in a month . . .
after a few bites, I threw the rest of the slice away and just didn't really like it much any more.

ANYWAY . . . I am an example that it can be done . . just have a short-term goal to give it up and see the difference.
Once you reach that short term goal, re-analyze . . see how you feel and think about how much you really want that bread or crackers or pasta or soda all the time.
Just eat meats (lots of bacon!), eggs, cheeses (not ricotta nor cottage), cream, whiskey, tequila, vodka, . . .
such great tasting stuff !!!!
You get filled faster and end up not eating as many calories.
As we now know, fats are extra healthy for you . . .
AND . . . no more cravings!
take care all
